We're an AAPI woman-owned microbusiness that started from the living room couch.
Our merch funds mutual aid, planet conservation and community projects. Rest easy knowing that your dollars are supporting our planet and our shared humanity. What began as a side project to escape the matrix has evolved into a larger vision: TLU seeks to inspire others to show up in whatever small ways they can. Whether that's buying a gift for your friend knowing the profits will be donated, or doing the tough inner work to show up more fully in this stressful world, TLU is here for you.
As of January 2025, 100% of profits go to mutual aid and Indigenous-led planet conservation efforts.
In 2025 we will begin offering donation-based events, both virtual and in-person, to build community and guide people on their personal journeys towards inner peace and resilience. We are stronger together.

About our name
"We are, each of us, a little universe." We're human beings. A universe exists inside each of us. We're complex, beautiful, messy, and real.
We're not meant to live in a box. I don't want to find an ultra-tight niche, no matter how many business gurus and coaches tell me it's the quickest way to make sales. Sales aren't my main priority. Making the world a better place is.
As a multi-hyphenate/polymath/mani-gen creatrix (can't even choose one label, let alone one niche) I wanted the name of my business to reflect the diverse range of products and services you're sure to find over the years, without sounding ostentatious.
let us share our heart with you
Our Values
Intentionality
We get to be here on this planet. Yes, there are many things that suck about it. Our loved ones are struggling and the vibes are off, to say the least (fascism will do that).
Time is of the essence, and energy is precious. That's why in every interaction, product listing, and event, we bring intention to every aspect.
What is intention? Put simply, it's having an unbreakable focus on the purpose behind our actions. Anyone can say their purpose is making the world a better place, but we strive to embody it. That's why we do crazy things that would stress out any CEO in 2025, like No-Profit November — then saying "f*ck it" and deciding to give 100% of profits to mutual aid for the unforeseeable future.
To be human on this Earth and have the ability to explore deeper levels of consciousness is such a gift, and we are taking full advantage of that conscious choice to act with clear vision and do whatever we can to make the world a better place. Intention or bust!
Expansion
Movement is life. Growth is life. To remain stagnant is to choose death.
OKKKK so it's a little dramatic. But change is the only constant in life. Even when you are completely still, your atoms continue to vibrate. And isn't that so fkn beautiful?!
We believe in pushing boundaries — especially the limits of our repressed, individualistic society. Especially the limits we've constructed in our minds that keep us living in autopilot in a prison of our own design.
Time to expand our minds. Our realities. Our awareness. Our inner universe. Our collective frequency as energetic beings. So that we can EVOLVE and step into this incredible new world we'll build together.
(And if you thought this value was gonna be about expanding our sales reach or something PLEASE gtfo and call ur therapist or schedule some breathwork bc capitalism has conditioned you HARD, babe. 💖
Creativity
Creativity is humanity's life force. To create is to be human.
Our ancestors painted mud figures on cave walls and danced around the fire, telling stories by starlight. We must remember the deep creative spirit that still exists in each and every one of us. We are ALL Creators.
We do NOT use generative AI for any of our designs, copywriting, social media, etc. Our own human brains do the job just fine, thank you.
Regeneration
It's not enough to be sustainable anymore. In today's climate, we need to go one step further and prioritize regenerative practices.
The difference between sustainability and regeneration is that sustainability keeps things at baseline, while regeneration actively makes things better.
We bring regeneration principles to our business operations (with more on the horizon):
- Investing our profits into mutual aid and planet-conservation efforts, thereby improving the planet and the lives of people who live here
- Offering somatic breathwork events to help people process suppressed emotions, break free of conditioning and bring their unique gifts to the world
Our Story
I started TLU in 2022, looking for a path out of my corporate job. Conditioned by capitalism, I thought that if I started a profitable business, I could leave my corporate job and take my time back...and finally use that newfound time to do some Real Good in the World.
I tried for a couple of years to get my heart fully into this business, learning from Youtube videos, coaches and influencers about how to start a business from the ground up and build wealth. I kept an open mind, knowing these business gurus had a lot more experience than I did...but I couldn't ignore my intuition forever.
Because the more I descended into that world, the more I realized...
Most of it?
It just felt flat-out gross.
Manipulative marketing tactics, preying on people's insecurities and heightened emotions, promoting overconsumption, creating artificial scarcity and exclusivity, viewing people as followers and leads, having a whole damn playbook to "convert" audiences and get them to fork over their hard-earned cash...and for what?
I don't want to opt-out of society and spend my days sipping margaritas on a private island.
I don't want to buy a huge mansion with a high fence and iron gates.
I don't want to escape the world and the pain of its reality, just so I can live comfortably and ignore the suffering all around me.
Maybe that's hard to believe. I get it. Escapism sells for a reason.
But I realized that what I want is to improve the world. NOT escape it.
I want to be here. Fully.
It made me question why I was even building this business at all. For years I'd been working on unlearning consumerism and learning to live with less, becoming closer to the land and my local community. Just when I was about to scrap the whole thing, my intuition spoke again...
I realized I was thinking about it all wrong. I had created a bunch of extra steps in my head.
I had told myself: I'll get rich first. Then, once I can quit my job and relax, then I can finally do some really great things for this world.
Then I'll make more art.
Then I'll donate more.
After I make a lot of money from this business.
But I realized that rather than building something to get rich, and then making the world a better place...why don't I just build the thing that makes the world a better in the first place?
So, what does TLU do? At the core of each of our offerings is a path towards creating a better world. I'm SO glad you found us!! 🌏
Currently, our offerings include:
- Redirecting a veryyyyy small cut of the multibillion-dollar Global Gifts & Apparel Market Industry to humans in need (aka 100% of our profits)
- Guiding humans through somatic breathwork practices to help release pent-up emotions and connect with their higher purpose, so they can show up fully and share their unique gifts with the world
Why have breathwork and your shop on the same website?
A couple months before I did my somatic breathwork practitioner training, a psychic told me (very adamantly) that I needed to stop compartmentalizing.
But compartmentalizing is exactly what all the online advice told me I should do. Ultra-specific niches are the established way to run a business these days—and proven to be effective. Want to sell swimwear and nerdy office mugs in the same place? NOPE! Spin up two separate websites, two different brand names both filed as DBAs under your parent LLC. Barf.
And while it may be a little sad that I needed a psychic to validate what I was already feeling, it was certainly helpful. Because I didn't want to live a million separate lives, spending my days switching from box to box, hat to hat.
No more compartmentalizing.
No more putting parts of myself in different boxes to make things palatable and simplified.
Business gurus and coaches will say not to "confuse your audience." Keep things simple and predictable. Don't confuse people, otherwise they might snap out of their dissociative fugue state and you won't make the sale!
Whatever. I don't think this will confuse you.
And I hope to the Great Mother we all snap out of our collective dissociative fugue state very fucking soon.
Long story short? TLU exists to make the world a better place. And we will do that in any and every way that we can.
Each one of us is, after all, a little universe. This is mine.
Thanks for being here 💖💞
with love,
anita ✨

earthlings unite
Our vision is rooted in the belief that in this vast universe, every individual deserves to feel supported, cherished, and heard. That's why we invest in community care through mutual aid initiatives. What started as a brand has evolved into a philosophy that celebrates uniqueness, interconnectedness and humanity's potential. We're a mission to redistribute wealth and find out if there really is an ethical way to run a business under late-stage capitalism.

keeping our planet in mind
We believe that we need to protect this little corner of the universe we call home (because uh...we live here ??). Our made-to-order business model prioritizes organic, recycled, and vegan products, and a portion of our profits support planet conservation efforts. We also help educate consumers on mindful purchasing via our blog.
The best way to fight consumerism is to buy less, so we want you to love your products and enjoy them for years and years to come. If you ever have any issues with your products, don't hesitate to drop us a line so we can make it right.
